RESTART THE HEART CAMPAIGN – Click here to view a recent article in the FoD Review
Thank you to all who showed interest in the week long event held to raise awareness of heart arrhythmia. It seemed to go very well, and the plan to have a Public Access Defibrillator fitted somewhere in our village will definitely be going ahead. If you can think of a punchy name for our campaign, please let us know.
There is a meeting booked with the Parish Council at the end of June to let them know what is happening and to allow them to have some input. There has also been a preliminary meeting with Great Western Ambulance Service and they are very keen to help us in any way they can. The Ambulance Service would also like to set up a Community Responder Group in the village, so if there are any budding first aiders out there or even seasoned medical campaigners who would like to be involved, then please let us know at the Post Office.
Some sort of steering group will be needed, so again if you are keen to help or you have medical abilities that would be useful please make it known at the Post Office.
Lastly, we will also need funds to put the plan into action, so start putting your loose change aside as we hope to be asking for donations in a few weeks time, once the management group is in place and we know exactly where we are going.
Cyril.
PS. if you are reading this and wondering what it is all about, please call at the Post Office and we will explain!
